The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the event to end all events.
Every January since 1969, thousands of people from across the globe have descended upon Las Vegas for a front-row seat at the technology that will soon become part of our daily lives.
Not surprisingly, drones and wearable tech dominated much of the buzz this year. But I and my fellow Party Scientists here at Splash were on the lookout for something else: The coolest tech to help event planners step up their game.
Here are 3 new gadgets we saw at CES 2016 that blew us away:

On Day 1 of CES, our friends at Livestream unveiled Movi, its first-ever consumer camera. This gadget is going to be HUGE.
Sean O'Kane at The Verge summed it up best: “For $399, the Movi gives people who are on a budget the chance to replicate a multi-camera setup with something they could fit in their pocket.”
To an event planner, the benefits of Movi are insane:
– Quick and easy event recap videos: Movi’s 4K live-streaming capabilities will help event planners make $10K recap event videos on a $399 budget. You can watch the event unfold live, choose the best shots as you go, and send a beautiful video to your guests immediately afterwards.
– Great for budget-savvy planners: Movi has the polish necessary for premier brands at a price point that’s perfect for churches, not-for-profit orgs, schools, families, startups and more. Great event videos should be for all; not just for planners who have the budget for a professional videographer.

Doppler Labs released Here Active Listening buds, the first in-ear audio system that gives you control over real-world sound. With Here, you can wirelessly adjust incoming sound and, as USA Today put it, “personalize your audio environment.”
Here is going to change the way guests experience live music and lectures. You can tune in with presets like Carnegie Hall and isolate a keynote speaker in a noisy outdoor venue. Or cancel out the annoying bar sounds to zero in on the live music.
I was rocking a pair all week at CES and blowing people's minds when they tried them on. Always an awesome reaction.
It's no wonder why TechCrunch called LISNR the "the most efficient and scalable standard." / PHOTO: LISNR
You’ve heard of the “internet of things,” but have you heard of the “internet of sound”? If not, pay attention to LISNR. It’s a game-changing technology for event planners everywhere.
This startup has developed a technology that uses soundwaves to push anything – like a song or a video – to any mobile phone. It eliminates the need to ask users to go to a site to download an app or piece of content.
The most perfect use case is live events. Imagine offering your fans instant playback of the event’s biggest moments, or pinging them with proximity-based messages to update them on changes to the festival lineup? That’s powerful.
If QR codes are the past; LISNR is the future. This is just the beginning of what these guys have in store, so pay attention.
