Awards Show, Design Showcase: The Splashies

The Splashies is our inaugural event marketing design awards show, where guest experiences reign supreme. We're celebrating the event marketers who kept innovating this year — no easy feat.

Nominees had to visually nail the attendee journey: from registration page, to invitations and reminder emails, to live streams. Everything had to be on point.

Join us live on June 16 to crown our champions, watch a designer vs. designer battle, get behind-the-scenes tips and tricks, and take home best practices for your next campaign.

Click & Type: Virtual Event Page Customization

This feature is available to all users with a paid Splash account.

The Virtual Event Page creates a branded and gated experience for your guests, and syncs valuable insights about your attendees back to your CRM. The result is a one-of-a-kind venue for events hosted on Zoom, Vimeo, YouTube, and many others.

Now, every on-page text element is fully editable, which means you can perfect the guest experience and better communicate your brand voice. As Splash CSM Nikki Vorwerk puts it, "You're now in full control."

With tools for adjusting font size, style, and color, keep your guests focused on what counts — and drive them to take action.

On Fire/En Fuego: Bilingual Branded Theme

This theme is available to all users with a paid Splash account.

Splash users have long been creating multi-language events. But the Bilingual Branded Theme takes it one step further: It's built to showcase two languages at once. Every text element — on every guest touchpoint — has a twin element for a second language.

Explains Splash Designer Ash Ifkovitz, "All text elements are formatted to scale two unique languages harmoniously across all screen sizes."

From a guest's perspective, jumping between languages is easy because everything is in one place. No link-outs required. It also creates a distinctly inclusive and multicultural feel, as both languages are given top billing.

As a host, you save time because you only need to built and maintain one version of your event. Or as Ash puts it: "This allows you to provide messaging in primary and secondary languages in record speed."

"All text elements are formatted to scale two unique languages harmoniously across all screen sizes."

When you create a new event, you'll find the Bilingual Branded Theme as an option in the Recommended tab. It can also be found under the Happy Hour category.

Sweet Element Upgrades: Candy for Designers

Countdown elements are available to all users. Hubs are available to users with a paid Splash plan.

Countdowns and hubs are so sweet, they ought to require parental supervision. Quick refresher:

  • Countdowns show guests how many days, hours, minutes, and seconds until your event begins.
  • Hubs allow you to organize multiple events on a single page, like a calendar visitors can subscribe to for updates.

Both are beloved for being "beautiful and dynamic," according to Splash engineer Taylor Parker. So how'd they get sweeter?

You now have the ability to edit how each countdown element is labeled, making it really easy to add a touch of whimsy or translate the element to another language.

On hub pages, the button that either reveals additional blocks or hides them can now be named for each state. In other words, it can read "Show More" when there are additional events in your calendar, or "Show Fewer" or "Collapse" if users want a shorter list to scroll.

"Gone are the days of hardcoded English."
Taylor Parker, Splash Engineer

For Pride Month and Beyond: That's the Theme

This theme is available to all users.

Featuring a bold color palette and a dizzying arrangement of content elements, Splash's theme for Pride Month is designed to awe audiences and make it easy for hosts to customize for their programming.

Said Splash's Director of Product Marketing, Piper Stull-Lane, "Like all themes in Splash, this one includes templates for your event page, registration form, emails, and share cards. It's a great solution for any event that is celebratory or meant to be eye-catching."

Peep the preview below, then read on to see customer examples and details for how to use this theme today.

How do I start using this theme?

To use the Splash Pride Theme, create a new event and click into the Recommended Tab — it'll be the first theme you see in the month of June.

What can I use this theme for?

The Splash Pride theme naturally works great for Pride events, but it's also easy to customize, making it highly versatile.

Some examples from last year include Shopify's gender affirmation event and Splash's event about diversity and inclusion. Some organizations take the theme beyond Pride — favorites are Bread’s Black Lives Matter in Tech, MoCADA's Juneteenth celebration, and Uncubed's Virtual Career Fair.
