  • A new theme for making your event calendar sparkle
  • Ways to optimize your Splash team for success
  • A new strategy for increasing your audience
  • Tools for returning to IRL events

Read on to get the full download on what's new in Splash for November.

P.S. Check out the Planning for the New Year guide for detailed info on how to jumpstart 2022.

Make your 2022 events calendar sparkle with the Jumpstart Hub Theme↓. It's designed to promote a full lineup of events in the most beautiful way possible, and works great for any series, roadshow, or general events calendar.

Speaking of event calendars, did you know Splash Hubs are embeddable anywhere? With Embeddable Hubs↓you can feature your upcoming events on Splash and non-Splash pages alike, so you can amplify the impact of all your experiential programming.

Making sure the tools your teams use are 100% on point is the surest way to scale in 2022. Account Configuration↓doesn't mean updating your profile picture — it's auditing your Splash integrations, brand assets, templates, and team members to make sure everyone is accessing the platform in the best way possible.

Now in Limited Availability is the new Event Format Selector↓. Those with early access will notice a new question on your event creation form that asks how your guest will attend. If your response is Virtual or Hybrid, Splash will automatically equip your event with Virtual Event Page functionality.

Every indication is that IRL events will be back with a vengeance in 2022. Be Ready for On-Site↓by reintroducing yourself to Splash's in-person events resources.

Your Best Calendar to Date: Jumpstart Hub Theme

The Jumpstart Hub Theme is available to all users with a paid Splash plan.

The crown jewel of every events program is the calendar. And what marketer wouldn't want their crown jewel to "shine bright like a diamond" (Rihanna voice).

Introducing the Jumpstart Hub Theme — Splash's most brilliant and multifaceted calendar to date.

This template was designed to give your 2022 event programs some extra juice, so our design team pulled out all the stops:

  • Jumpstart is the first Hub template to feature built-in filters for Event Type and Format — not to mention Hub search functionality.
  • Jumpstart is also the first Hub template to include dedicated content blocks for showcasing a Featured event and all of your program's past events.
  • Jumpstart's Hub cards come with a unique design that features each event's primary image, content tags, and a dynamic "RSVP spots remaining" count to help drive excitement (see below).

So, if your 2022 plans include an event series, roadshow, or just a dynamite events calendar, look no further than Jumpstart.

Next time you create an event, you'll see Jumpstart listed in the Hubs category. You can also start using it today by simply clicking here.

It's (em)Bed Time!: Embeddable Hubs

Hub functionality is available to all users with a paid Splash plan.

Speaking of Hubs and Calendars↑, did you know that Splash Hubs come with a copy-and-paste embed code?

That means you can embed your Hubs anywhere, including:

  • Non-Splash pages, like your company's website or "Events" tab
  • All of your Splash event pages, so you can get more eyeballs on your full events program

The best part: Your embedded Hub is a dynamic element.

That means by managing your Hub in one place (i.e., publishing events, removing events, etc.), all changes will be reflected everywhere it's embedded — automatically.

Follow these easy steps for locating your Hub's embed code. Then start promoting your events calendar everywhere!

Get Ready for Tomorrow Today: Account Configuration

Library, Team Manager, and Reporting are available to teams with a paid Splash account, but not every user role will have access to these features. See the chart below for a full breakdown.

Calling all Admins!

The most critical responsibility of leading a program in Splash is making sure your team is set up for success.

And by success, we mean that every user is executing events in a way that is consistent, compliant, and 100% on-brand.

So, as you’re gearing up for 2022, here are some of the most powerful ways to optimize your Splash team:

  • Analyze your event reporting: Your Splash Reporting dashboard is a treasure trove of valuable insights. View your year-end reporting to assess what your team did well and where there's room for improvement. Check out this handy guide for understanding analytics in Splash.
  • Review your team structure: Team Manager is where Admins can oversee every user on their Splash team. As a best practice, Admins should remove inactive users and make sure everyone on the team is assigned the right role and belongs to the right group. Read more about Team Manager here.
  • Lock in your brand assets: What if 10 minutes of prep could save your team hundreds of hours a year in design time? Heading into the new year, make sure your Brand Library is up to date with the most current colors, fonts, and logos.

This simple act of maintenance ensures that every event your team creates is using approved branding across every guest-facing touchpoint.

Audit your templates: If your Splash team is using custom themes, it means they have access to powerful templates for creating events the way they should be.

But if your team's definition of "the way they should be" ever changes, it's imperative to update all themes in need of a refresh — or to put them out to pasture permanently.

Prioritize compliance: Registration forms are where sensitive attendee data is collected. Using the Form Library, you're able to create a standardized form for all events, ensuring your required opt-ins, T&Cs, and legalese are always present. Make it a habit to review your forms regularly so you can prevent rogue data collection.

Users in an Admin role can control all account configuration settings. See the chart above to learn how others on your team are able to help.

The Return to IRL: Be Ready for On-Site

The Host App is available to all Splash users. Badge printing is only available to users with a paid Splash account.

Since May of 2021, more than half the companies using Splash returned to in-person events.

So, if IRL or hybrid are part your 2022 plans, it’s time to get your team on-site ready.

Here are our top tips:

  • Download the Splash Host App for iOS and Android. Perfect for tablets and smartphones, the app makes checking in guests, registering walk-ins, and printing name badges a breeze.
  • Speaking of name badges, get your printers set up. Splash is compatible with two different Brother printers, allowing you to swipe and print from a wireless connection.
  • Make sure your on-site team has access to Splash. You can add On-Site Specialists directly in Team Manager.

And for some extra peace of mind, make sure your team is on-site certified. Splash has interactive online courses for both Host App and Badge Printing.

Choose Wisely: Event Format Selector

The Event Format Selector is currently in Limited Availability.

At Splash, we're always looking for ways to make hosting virtual and hybrid events easier.

The new Event Format selector — now in Limited Availability — is the latest example.

Many users will now see a new question when creating an event that asks “How will your guests attend?”

If you choose Virtual or Virtual and In-Person, the Virtual Event Page will be automatically added to your event — our recommended method for hosting a virtual or hybrid event in Splash.

This extra bit of automation is our way of making sure you always have the right tools for the event you’re hosting.

Plus, this feature is a key building block for some much bigger releases in 2022. (Yep, that's what we call a tease!)

Our Product team will increase the number of users that have access to the Event Format Selector every couple weeks or so through the end of the year and early next.

So, please keep an eye out, and let us know what you think.

P.S. If your organization has a custom event creation form, you'll be excluded from the Limited Availability period.
