Do you want to entice those who attended your event with a reward for completing your survey? If this is something you want to do, you will want to think about when you should offer an incentive, and if you do what population this could bring in potentially affecting your survey responses. There are two types of incentives:
1. Monetary- Cash, gift cards, coupons, etc.
2. Non-Monetary- Company swag, charity donation, etc.
It has been shown that response rates are much higher when a monetary prize is involved, but keep in mind that there is a large chance the survey could be bias when leveraging one. This is why your company must know the appropriate situation to use them:
1. Targeting a rare population
2. Surveying a group that isn’t as likely to respond
If you are just starting out with testing the incentive waters, start small and see where it is effective and ultimately valuable for your business.
